The Street Operations & Maintenance Division performs many functions to ensure the City's public streets, alleys, bike lanes, lighting, and signage are well maintained to provide safe travel routes for all users and to ensure these public assets are managed so as to get the most useful life out of them as possible.

Functions

  • General street maintenance, such as pothole patching, crack sealing, asphalt paving, and chip sealing
  • Street cleaning
  • Snow plowing and removing ice from streets
  • Alley grading
  • Performing leaf collection
  • Unplugging storm drains or sumps
  • Maintaining stormwater facilities
  • Completing street construction projects
  • Chip sealing
  • Maintaining State routes within the city
  • Maintaining bike lanes
